EUR/USD, USD/JPY - looking quiet unless yen sees another flurry
Could be quiet into US holiday unless there is another flurry of squaring
Somewhat better risk tone in the recently volatile Asia risk trade as Kospi recovers 6% with Nasdaq future also +1%, metals also better on the sessions. Antipodeans slightly better bid overnight against that backdrop, AUD/USD trying to lift away from the 200dma, though needs to be clearing 0.6950 resistance to be extending.
USD/JPY quiet, consolidating just below 161 though it does tend to be that transition period into the European morning when flurries are seen, so you can’t rule out another burst of yen short covering into the US holiday and weekend just yet.
EUR/USD meanwhile still at the 1.1450 balance area regained straight after payrolls and probably set to drift unless USD/JPY does wake up. Charts do allow for some follow through to 1.15 on the move later in coming sessions but with US on holiday later it may be a quiet day ahead overall
