Le Pen court ruling. Challenges for France in any case
Somewhat mixed results from the appeals court decision on Le Penn – ineligibility for office is shortened to 45 months with 30 suspended, meaning the 15 months served in theory allows eligibility. In practice, with the court ordering Le Pen to serve the non-suspended portion at home wearing an electronic monitoring bracelet for one year, it is debateable that standing is viable. As far as markets are concerned, whether Le Penn or Bardella stands is probably not that material now to the outcome, risk profile - or a highly divisive result and logjam regardless. France faces significant policy and fiscal challenges over the outlook in most scenarios. FR-DE10s remain towards the top side but off the range tops for 2005+
